Anybody use one?

i'm looking at the rocktron banshee 2, would be cool to run the talk box effect as well as the original guitar signal..

i know they're probably considered "gimmicky" by most, but i'm just thinking of getting one for the fun aspect, and i reckon live it would go down pretty well (unless its used to much)

opinions? :headbang1:

I had a banshee a couple of months ago. In my opinion, the banshee rocks! Fun to use, and the crowd loves it!

Here is one of our songs (where I use the banshee)

I've got somewhere (cant find it now though, probably got put away somewhere safe when I moved house) a Seabro Tube Station.  It was quite rare, and I've not seen one since.  Think they've been discontinued now.

It was an in-line effect, rather than the tradition talk box which is normally a horn/compression driver driven by the output of an amp like the HeilSound Talk Box.  The Seabro had a small 5Watt solid state amp built into the box and the output was sent to a compression driver.  it sounded quite tinny and distorted if you just used it as an amp, btu sounded great by the time it made it;s way up the tube and out of your mouth.

I'm now in the process (long process) of building a bolt on for the front of a 6inch Jensen speaker cab I made for my Torres Tiny Tone 1.5W tube amp kit.  The cab I made from pine dove-tailed.

The bolt on will attach to teh front of the cab be air-tight, and simply be a piece of pine with a 6inch hole cut in it, with a funnel over the top of that.  That will funnel the sound up a tube and into my mouth.

I just wanted an all tube talkbox with a real speaker instaed of a compression driver.  Just a fun project I fancied doing.  Havent had the time recently though  ???

wow that sounds like an awesome idea jim  :icon_thumright: a tube talkbox, who woulda thought!

Norweigan Guy: is that the banshee model 1, or 2? sounds awesome!

Back in the 70's a friend and I made 2 talk boxes out of old altec horn drivers, 1/2" clear fuel line, bicycle innertube and duct tape.
Rattled my teeth real good and sounded great.
