String trees

I am planning to build a warmoth with a tele neck and I was wondering what the purpose of the string tree and if it is necessary. please keep in mind i am very inexperienced. thanks

String trees allow for a proper string angle at the nut.  They also stop the string between the nut and the tuner from making sounds.

Yes, at least one... If you're very picky you'll need a 2nd for the D and G string
