I've never changed saddles in any of my guitars, so I have no experience with any but stock. No graph-tech, nada...

I was considering changing out my Strat saddles:

For ones from Guitar Fetish, which seem to no longer to be available. Just as well; with shipping, they were 21-something. It annoyed me that shipping is almost as much as the item itself, but then I wonder if the saddles were worth it at all for the price they were charging.

But, I just did a search and came up with these saddles, which are only slightly more expensive than the GF versions (which were in this style) and these, at least, have free shipping.

Thoughts? Suggestions? I seem to want to put money into my Strat. Gives me something to tinker with while I wait for my Warmoth body and neck to arrive.

Edit: I just noticed the ones at MF have offset screws, and say they're for American tailpieces, so I'm surely up the creek with those. FFS...

If you've got $20 burning a hole in your pocket, go back to Guitar Fetish and buy a new pickup. You'll get a lot more satisfaction out of that than replacing saddles. Although, those dirt-cheap roll-formed saddles should be replaced, just on general principles. But, that's not going to make any game-changing difference in anything, so if you're itching for something new, do the pickup. Or, go get one of these Snark Tuners. Those things are the whip, and you can use one with any of your guitars.

I love my pickups. I've got Texas Specials in there and they are amazing. I guess I'll just take a deep breath, instead.

Edit: Oh, and I've already got a Snark coming since I reupped my Guitar Tricks subscription...

I'm happy with changing the old bent metal saddles for graphtech string savers.  if black isn't your bag they have ones that are just the material where the strings make contact.
