SImple question, can anyone explain the tonal difference for having a straight bridge pickup for a strat rather than angled? I'm getting a pickguard made for my yamaha and there is an option to get the bridge pickup straight, which just got me to thinking...

Depends how discerning your ears are. I would hear no difference. Angling it the complete opposite way, I only hear a slight difference. Hearing it w/out seeing it, I challenge anyone to ever know otherwise.
