In anticipation of new Warmoth day tomorrow or more likely Monday I thought I'd start a thread. This will be landing on my desk attached to a hopefully delicious neck. I say hopefully because I splashed out on a specific fretboard but I haven't seen the neck:

Thanks all,
Looks like Monday is Warmoth day. I like how there's 1 or more grain areas that resemble an eye. It will be interesting to see where Warmoth put that bit. I don't know if I prefer it towards the body or towards the nut where the fret spacing is wider assuming it will be on the visible side or the grain goes right through. Naturally there will be no inlays on that piece of wood :)

I had been playing with the custom builder page for a while and other boards didn't catch my eye until that one came along - then not too long after this one also came along and I had a bit of a dilemma of which one to choose. In the end 2794 below got taken out so the choice was made to go with 2650 above:

If the purchaser of 2794 is here show us what you got ;)

OK, I've figured out how to make your Warmoth gear even better. Leave it in the box for a couple of extra days and the grain will mature - like a fine wine or something ;) When I first browsed the showcase and saw the goncalo alves necks I wanted one of my own.

I was after something with wild grain - not too much light or dark. When ordering custom you can't influence the neck shaft you will get at all beyond the wood type selection. So those extra days must have resulted in exactly what I hoped for! It's hard to take a good enough photo of the neck especially indoors at night but here it is:

I'll start a build thread including pics with other components soon.

Incidentally I was just browsing the new layout for unique choice fretboards on the Warmoth site and if anyone wanted another chance to get the fretboard I got then here it is... #2807 - I can practically guarantee this came from the same tree as mine, probably millimetres apart :) Not sure if you'd get a 6 string bass board out of it though:
