Bagman67 said:Back when I was a wee sprig of a lad, in my early years of playing the guitar, I had a hankering for a trans-trem myself. Back in the heady days of the first Van Hagar record, I thought Ed's playing on "Summer Nights" was something I'd love to be able to cop - and it requires a trans-trem to play the song in real time. I still think it'd be a lot of fun, but I'm far less excited by the prospect of note-for-note VH covers. If you pull the trigger, I'd be interested in your impressions.

Why? :icon_scratch:
I used to have this MusicYo Steinberger ... and open chords sounds and feels the same as on standard heads.
SustainerPlayer said:I can't remember it being a problem. I remember that visually it felt like playing "over the edge" but that took 10 minutes to adjust to.
I would love to try the trans trem.

I mainly want the Steinberger for the trans-trem. To get them by themselves costs $1000. I figure that I can get one, plus a guitar, for an extra $200.
