All in all I'm happy with the body. It really is beautiful and looks better in person than the crappy phone pics can show. I was initially a bit surprised and a little disappointed by what look like minor handling scratches and abrasions on the wood under the clear coat, but it's no big deal to me personally. If it is an avoidable quality control issue though, I'd like to hope someone at Warmoth might see this and take note.
I'm planning to match the body with a 7/8 Warhead Rosewood/Ebony neck and I like what I'm seeing when holding them together to imagine how the finished guitar might look. It does look a bit unconventional, but I think it's definitely working as an example of using contrasting wood colours, while also relying on the hardware to tie the pieces together.
So yeah, I'm happy with the choices I made and the overall quality of the neck and body, which was largely about making use of the unique options Warmoth makes available.
Turns out this does all happen to have coincided with my priorites shifting to other areas since I ordered the neck back in January though, so I don't have an ETA on when I'll be able to get all the pieces together and assembled. Luckily I've just managed to finish the first Warmoth guitar I put together a few months back, so I'm in no rush anyway.
