spray over logo

I have a neck and body coming from warmoth and I had the neck headstock covered with quilted maple and dyed the same as the body.  b4 I install tuners etc.  I wish to install a waterslide logo what can I use to overspray it?

Is the headstock being finished? If so, what with? I use rattle can clear satin lacquer, from Minwax or Watco. This is only on unfinished wood...

I used the Nitrocellulose Lacquer product from Stewart McDonald called "Colortone Guitar Lacquer" and it worked great.  I sprayed about 8 thin coats over the decal and waited a few weeks.  Then I wet sanded it down and it turned out where you could not even feel any raised lip of where the decal was applied.  Check it out!

You can do lacquer over poly.

A coat of shellac first might help, but if those first coats of nitro are thin, there wont be a problem
