Are these available anywhere? Also curious as to how they mount on the pickguard.

I have no idea whether the pushbuttons are available at a reasonable price, but my guess is that the pushbutton switches and the pots were mounted on a board, which is in turn held in place on the pickguard by the nuts that hold the pots in place.  Alternately, they could be mounted on a smaller board that is attached to a bracket, also held in place by the pot nuts.

I don't know about how it's done on the Elite but those buttons look exactly like what's used on the American Deluxe HSS and the Jeff Beck guitars.  I put one on my Warmoth.  Here's one: http://www.acmeguitarworks.com/Push-Push_Switch_DPDT-P67C10.aspx .  I bought mine off Ebay.  You superglue that black block to the pickguard - I just scratched up the back side of the pickguard where I wanted to mount it and superglued it down, then drilled through the hole in the block so it was lined up perfect on top of the pickguard.  Then I had to ream the hole slightly so the switch was free.  Here's a pic of the back side of my pickguard and you can see the push push switch just to the left between the two tone pots:

Here's some on ebay right now: http://cgi.ebay.com/ULTRA-BECK-GENUINE-FENDER-DPDT-PUSH-PUSH-GUITAR-SWITCH-/390324949092?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item5ae12e1064 .  They are kind of hard to come by.

:icon_scratch:  Look a bit like my up / down buttons on my Roland Ready Strat.

When I looked at these one time, to change the pickguard, they where screwed into a mounted plastic block, glued onto the pickguard.

They don't exist in black (yet).  I emailed fender on it and they gave me the part number it would have if and when they do.  What I did was use Rustoleum specialty plastic spray paint in gloss black (doesn't need primer).  I taped off the bottom part of the button (that is always inside the cavity) so that paint wasn't scraping off that and I painted the top part.  Used a number of light coats and let it sit for a couple weeks before putting it on the guitar and it's holding up great.  I finished it 3 months ago and I play it for 1-2 hours a day and it still looks perfect.  Down the road when they release an actual black knob you'll be able to buy just the knob - they sell them in sets of 2 ( http://cgi.ebay.com/Fender-USA-Parchment-Strat-Push-Switch-Button-Knobs-x2-/370526780476?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item56451dfc3c ).
