Soloist Questions

Hi,

I am new to the board. I have been thinking about getting a custom Soloist. I currently own a Jackson DXMG and I love the body. How similar are a Warmoth Soloist's (flat top) body and a Jackson Dinky's in terms of size and shape? How thick is the forearm contour at its thinnest point? If someone could post a few pictures of a Soloist's forearm contour from a few different angles, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

+1 to the welcome.

I have built two soloists, but I cannot answer your question about the forearm contour.  One of mine had the contour omitted (bound body) and the other is a carved top.

Regarding the body size/shape, it is narrower than the Jackson dinky/soloist body.  Also, the headstock is a bit larger than the Jackson headstock.  Hope that helps.

I have an SL2H and a PS-4 for comparison.

The forearm contour t it's thinnest point is about 17mm give or take a bit. But it's very comfortable.

Yes, my warmoth soloist. The soloists are the same thickness weather they have a veneer or not.

If you go to the Soloist webpage, there's a side menu there for Comfort Contours, which shows the side on look of the forearm contour. It says there that they do Strat contours.

the warmoth is very close to the Jackson.  I would be happy to take some close up photos but for exact measurments, I do not have a dinky on hand to compare it too.  The Contours are very comfortable.
