I just stumbled across this thread.  This beast be pleasin' to me eye.

The title has my imagination runnin'! -can't view many links/video at work due to the hefty filters they got here, but I'll be sure to give this one a look when I get home! -Sounds pretty cool... the perfect instrument to go with Stubhead's "hittin' the bottle" thread?

The same guy made this one.  The video is kind of poor quality, but it really makes me want to build something like this.  He used a stove top part for the cover plate.

And a cabinet handle for the bridge! :laughing3: But, dobros are already really, really bright sounding, they were invented in the first place to out-twank banjos and out-shriek horns - so put a pickup on one?!? I wouldn't want to be in the same room as the testing staff when they plug them it, for sure. I guess if you owned stock in both those things and a hearing-aid company, you get 'em coming and you'd get-em going. I've seen hubcaps used as the actual resonator cone, too.
