Solid colors on regal body?

I’m working on a regal build, and I’m wanting it white, solid white.
Doesn’t seem you can get that? Am I missing something?

I think that probably has to do with the fact that it has a laminated top. I think if you call them they'll paint it however you want.

Edit - I just went and configured a chambered body with a mahogany top. It gave all the solid options. I do think it has to do with the laminate and I believe you should be able to get what you want if you call.

If you select any 'fancy' top, the builder will only let you choose dyes/trans/bursts etc. - presumably to 'protect' you from accidentally covering over a pretty piece of wood with an opaque finish.

Whatever wood combo you want with a solid finish, just give Warmoth a call, there's no technical reason they can't do it - even a $300 unique choice top can be covered up if you're really that way inclined; those super quilt tops are full of mojo after all - even more so if you're the only one that knows it's there.

I've e-mailed in a few orders for carved top and/or hollow bodies with solid finishes, and they simply skip the thinner laminate. A couple of the bodies (carved Tele for sure; I believe the carved Velocity as well) can even be done from solid blanks with no need for a laminate at all. I'm really not sure why the online ordering form & builder only offer double laminates with binding. You'd think Warmoth would rather push the single-laminate tops and solid finishes; less work for them and, I would think, therefore more profitable or at least more consistent and quicker profit.

But anyway, yes, e-mail or phone them and they'll probably be able to sort out what you want.

You are correct that a we will do solid colors on carved-tops, and when we do we sometimes skip the upper lam. Also correct that couple a carved-top bodies can be done from solid blanks (Tele and Velocity, IIRC). We can also do carved-top with a single-piece cap and no binding, or lots of other things.

There are two reasons why all the things Warmoth can do are not explained or offered on the website:

1. Our product is already complicated enough...x 1000. It's tough for people to understand it all, so we simplify the offerings/options on the website wherever we can, aiming for the center of the target and leaving the edges for call-ins.

2. It's incredibly difficult to program all the conditional logic in to the already redonkulously complicated builders.

This is a great way to explain it.
