So my birthday's coming up and I am having a bit of a conundrum.

I have the Tele body and neck with no other parts that I got for Christmas that I could finish with birthday money or at least get close to done.  However, I am being drawn to some strat bodies and necks in the showcase and am thinking about using the incoming capital to get the two biggest pieces of a third build.  IF I went this route, I would probably put the electronics from my Mexi-Strat in it until I can replace them with better parts.  What do you think? What should I do?  I've also considered that the pups (Rio Grandes) that I want to put in the tele are going to take some considerable jack to buy.  As you can see this, while a good problem to have, is still a bit of a torturous decision.

Here is the reason you should finish the Tele first.............We here on the forum love to see pics of completed projects.  Pics of parts always leave us slightly...unsatisfied.

It's really up to you. Since I finished my first Warmoth I have always more bodies at home than necks because I see a unique body in the showcase and I have to have it before it's too late. At the moment I have two bodies waiting... Unique means a body with a top and transparent color or unfinished. It's a body you can't find when it's gone. If the bodies have solid colors you can find them easily.

I vote to finish the tele.  Not to sound snobby, but I am guessing the expensive parts you get for the tele, pickups especially, will give you a better sound/playability than the MIM strat parts.  While I have nothing to stand on as far as telling someone not to start a project, two are currently in a holding pattern, with one possibility looming, the finished product is a marvelous feeling.  And from personal experience, boy, does the one I have sound and play nifty.
