Single coil / Humbucker ...volume/ tone on strat

Hey guys, just wanted to get some feedback on this......

here's the deal  2 Fender single coils Neck and Middle and Gibson Humbucker in Bridge....On strat pickguard

The Questions.....Could I use 250k pots and 47uf caps just like a traditional Fender on the Volume and tone controls as usuall Fender style...and then use a  500K/500K Concentric Pot and 22uf caps in the third tone control position on the strat pickguard for the Gibson Humbucker....thus keeping the strat looking typical strat with just 3  control knobs..... yet still keeping the respective pot and cap values as is traditional for single coil and humbucker in tact.......

The important part......Can I use a standard 5 way switch with this configuration ??  .......or do I need to wire the single coils and humbucker seperate as in say ....use a 3way switch for the single coils and a On/off toggle for the Bridge humbucker ????

I know I could just use 500k pots and 22caps and wire it standard for all the pickups....but Im hell bent on 100% pure single coil strat tones or true Gibson Humbucker tones......or would it be an apples oranges difference in a sound comparison to the above configuration???

Also since Im not splitting the Gibson Humbucker would 2 conductor wiring be best as opposed to 4 conductor wiring.....or dosn't it matter as far as tone and wiring goes????

Thank you for any help you guys can offer.....I know I can research this stuff and will, but its nice to get the feedback from real people that know. Thanks again.

Hey SB,

is it typical for you to use multiple vol/tone while playing? not trying to beat a dead horse here but if your not gonna use multiple vol/tone, just keep it simple with the 500k pots and turn down the tone a bit when using the sc's although I dont think youll really need to.

Hey Brian, no would be the answer to that, Im just concerned not wiring it traditional would take away the true tone of the respective pickups...though I don't know that for sure thus the questions...

I guess the simple question then would be if I wired it as you suggest would the single coils still sound true Fender in tone....????

you can use 500k volume and tone and so the second pole on the 5way shorts a 500k resistor to ground for the single coil positions i've even grounded the extra lug of a tone pot through the switch so that the cap is shorted against itself when the tone is at 10.
this works ok but if you got a humbucker that sounds good w/250k potsit would be more strait forward.
"fat strats" like the lonestart strat use 250k's with humbuckers that are lower impedence/inductence, more vintage like. the bright nature of the strat and closeness to the bridge make it work. maybe not true gibson tone but you wont get exactly that anyway.
