Singing resources

So, does anyone here know any good resources for learning singing technique and all? Preferably free.

I've got a pretty lousy vocal range, pitch accuracy isn't great, etc... so, excercises working on those and developing more skill in the various vocal registers (I'm pretty sure I am completely missing a mixed voice, for example. I think I can do a lousy chest voice and then go to a lousier falsetto)

Part of what's irritating is that searching for singing help online just turns up hundreds of ads, essentially. I can probably do scales and such, but I'd be going from chest voice to falsetto, it's the fluidity in transitioning and quality of tone I need
