Seymour Duncan tapped pickups

Does anyone have any experience with S.D's tapped pickups? I figure there has got to be a difference in perceived voulme when you go between the two but is it a huge difference?

I have the Quarter Pound Tele bridge pickup on Bête Noire.  In my experience, there is an appreciable change in output when switching from tapped to full-strength.  By "appreciable," I don't mean it's like hitting an overdrive pedal, or anything like that - the switch fills in some midrange and bottom end that isn't there in the tapped position.  I like the lower-output setting just fine for standard telecaster sounds, but the wide-open position is fun for goosing your preamp a little harder, or for adding a bit of meat to a lead sound.    It ain't magic, but it's definitely got some utility.
