I just got off the phone with Seagrave here in NJ.  I spoke with the chemist and they have in stock and ready to purchase.

F-6854 - Natural Oil Based Wood Pore Sealer
M5465 - High Solid Sanding Sealer

These are both from the original McFadden specs, however they are sending me to the distributor and it is not easy to deal with them whn you only need a gallon or so.

Is anyone purchasing Seagrave Products from a retailer???

Stew Mac has the nitro lacquer topcoats, but not the filler or sealer.

Yes they have the finish, they do not have the filler.  I spoke to them today about it and they want me to buy Chemcraft.  They list the McFadden, but if you read it all the way through, it  says because of a delay in production they will now be selling ChemCraft.

So after a ridiculous conversation with the Seagrave Distributor, i'm done with them.  I only need two things.  I am not going to buy 250 cans of each to buy direct from them, and the people at their only distributor Carnegie in Brooklyn is impossible to deal with.  There are a bunch of wood distributors listed on Seagrave's website, but Seagrave got rid of all of them besides Carnegie.  Its really sad in a way, all they have to do is sell to a few to some online vendors and we could get the stuff easily.  I am going to get everything from Re-Ranch.

Yep Seagraves are a bunch of a******s.  I could tell some really good stories that would blow your mind about this company and there ethics! But I will keep this a friendly discussion:)

I personally would stay away from this company and it is really unfortunate LMF was acquired by them, they had some really good products. Chemcraft comes out of Canada and they have very good products as well. Rhoda paint is typically the suppliers for chemcraft products.

I have been using some of Chemcrafts products for 15 yrs and just recently found out there product will be labeled different depending on what country it is going to. Same product just different labels and product numbers.

They have some good lacquers, vinyl sealers and urethanes in quantities that are affordable for the DIYs

Well, I will say this, the folks at Seagrave, (Roy and Lisa) were extremely helpful getting me the proper part#s cross referenced with LMF and getting me to a distributor.  Roy the chemist especially was a great help and a smart guy.  The real issue in my mind is that the website is wrong, it lists a pile of wood coatings distributors and in reality they only have one.  The one they have is a store in Brooklyn with an anti-sales person answering the phone.  Also, by not having a bigger distributor who works with proper retailers and online storefronts, they are limiting themselves to a very small market.
My only option was to drive to Carnegie in Brooklyn but i am 2 hours away, and they close most days at 3.  I am not taking a day off from work to go there.  If you are from Texas or California, what are you going to do? Fly?  Its not worth it.
