Satin Transparent Yellow on Swamp Ash

So here's my latest project.
1-piece super lightweight Swamp Ash, finished in Satin Transparent Yellow.

It did not turn out quite as yellow as I'd like. It has hints of olive-green in there. And it's totally dependent on the light source. With sunlight, it looks bright yellow, on a rainy day it's a bit swampy and with warm room-lighting, it looks brown-olive-green & a touch of grey.

So, it's still interesting enough for me to turn it into a project - but my original plan for a 3-singlecoil Strat changed to a more SuperStrat-ish vibe.
So it noe got an old DiMarzio DP103 PAF from the 70s in the neck and a slightly newer '95 DiMarzio F-Spaced DP103 PAF in the bridge (these are both discontinued models), and a '97 HS-3 from my old Yngwie Strat in the middle.

I think it looks mighty fine myself. Great job picking the options. Personally, I would go with a darker pick-guard, but that's a subjective thing.................. :icon_thumright:

I think it looks really nice! I love the way the color helps to accentuate the grain.

Thanks fellas!

Yes, it turned out quite.nice if I do say myself, even though it was not love at first sight

It looks great, in a vintage sort of way.  My favorite finish ever was a trans yellow Charvel I recently sold.  If Warmoth could only figure out how to get that super-bright yellow, I'd buy another body today.

That's actually beautiful and not too far off what's on my Strat.
Keep in mind mine's Satin, so a bit of the "bright" effect is lost on Satin.

But yes, I would love a bit a more of a "punchy" yellow.
