Real Pau Abalone pickguard ..whoa

I picked up some gold abalone topped mini knobs for my Koa G4 when I noticed this .. a bit pricey but stunning....

  it's real Pau Abalone shell. It also comes in blue/green/red  .. on a Koa top strat  ..mmm Island dreams

Is that from qparts.com? Good luck with that, I found that a couple of years ago, when I called the 800 number none of the shell pickguards were "in stock" and they try to palm you off on their "dealers", many of which never heard of them,  do not actually stock guitar parts, or in the case of guitar center stock knobs only.

Let us know how that works?

BTW, you can order those same knobs they charge $12 for off eBay for $4-6...

For what it is, that is not bad.  I think that would look cool on one of Warmoth's "Caribbean Burst" finishes, perhaps on a Swamp Ash body.  :icon_thumright:

Next year me and my family is spending the week at the beach, and there is abalone there. Might go for a search.
