Ok, so the skinny here is I just got a "new" 1991 Fender American Deluxe, and it's amazing. Two problems, my only two problems, are the finish and the bridge block. Already placed an order for a bridge block, so that leaves finishing. My question is: Is there anybody here who actually knows how to finish a guitar? Possibly someone I could pay to do it for me? If not that, how would one go about ripping off this sunburst finish and re-finishing. I have absolutely no access to spray equipment or any facilities of any kind beyond my screened in porch and/or a brick patio. Any oil finishes that block out moisture? What about dying and doing an oil finish (One that actually builds up a finish but still goes on thin) Thanks for any help people.
