One year ago I built this beauty:

It's a black korina precision body, PJ, pasive, with a maple/ebony jazz bass neck.

I'm pretty satisfied with the sound, but after these moths of playing I do not feel comfortable with the neck. I'm a many years precision and stingray user, so I have not adapted to a jazz neck  :dontknow: (when I felt it could be more comfortable).

Well, so I want to change the neck for a precision neck. Since I have too a Tony Franklin (alder body, maple/ebony neck) my idea is to put a raw wood neck for this bass, to be distinctive, and because a like so much the feel of a raw wood in the hands. Pau ferro is my choice for fingerboard, but for neck wood I have more than one idea: bubinga, wenge, padouk, purpleheart, satine... I read good things about all, so here is my question.

Talking about sound, this "korina PJ" have a more piano-like sound, more bass and treble, and more fast response in comparison with the Tony Franklin. A neck that give this, and nice mids, is good for me. Looking for aesthetics ... I don't have idea wich wood (we'll see on the headstock) will look better with the korina.

One more question: classical stell stiffening rods or graphite stiffening rods?

Thanks
