Yeah I think it would have been his birthday, kinda like "today Les Paul would have been ninety-something" on the odd news story heard on radio.......
That said, he was an absolute genius with some of his innovations. And in his latter years he capped many a celebrated guitarist's career by getting them up on stage with him. Indelibly linked with the most famous (and one of the earlier, if not THE earliest) signature guitars.
FWIW, the namesake guitar is the least of his contributions to the music world. How we hear it, how we record it, the absense of F-holes. I could go on.
