I have a ESP-LTD MH-400. It has a set maple neck with a rose wood fret board and white binding on the neck. The guitar is blue and the back of the neck is painted to match the color of the guitar. When playing ur hand kind of gets caught on the neck and you move up and down the neck. Once ur hands begin to sweat just a lil bit it gets worse. I would like to remove the paint somehow just to the sanded maple neck. Sanding would prolly be best but i have no clue how to start and I do not want to ruin the neck. Please Help! LOL

I believe that if you sand it, you'll still need to apply something to the maple. Maple may have problems if its not finished with anything; I don't think its like an exotic that doesn't need a finish.

You'll probably want to apply some finish/paint that isn't as sticky. Check and see if its possible to do that without taking off the current paint, although that's unlikely.

Nothing beats a feel Maple neck with 'BIRCHWOOD CASEY - Tru Oil Gunstock oil paired gently applied with Gunstock wax..' lightning fast neck feels,,,  No Kidding !
