I wanted to have a les paul with a singlepiece maple top on a singlepiece mahogany or korina back, with a purplemist burst, and now? I have it!
That body, with a wenge neck to go. ebony fretboard, ivoroid binding (to match the body!), pearloid celtic cross (my favorites), p90 in the middle, with a stagmag/PATB2 hybrid in the bridge and neck, with auto-volume/tone select, depending on the 5 way blade position (to go where you usually have the 3 way toggle, I'll make a nice toggleplate to cover old holes and strange looking things, just as you have it on a regular les paul, but mine will be flamed maple, stained to contrast the top). I'll have inlay on the first fret, a fixed bridge, and a new neck contour (new for me, at least). a 25.5'' neck with a 1 3/4 nutwidth. Never had that before, but I find the 1 11/16 a bit shalow, eventhough it is a fatback
