I ordered my custom body and a showcase neck on 10/27/10 added all the parts to it on 10/29/10 and they shipped it out to me yesterday.  That is 2 and 1/2 weeks!  It arrives on Friday which is perfect because now I have all weekend to work on the guitar.  I am so excited. :toothy10:

Wow, I am incredibly jealous! I ordered custom body (no finish) on Oct 11 and I'm still waiting for that magical email telling me it shipped. What are you building?

The body is a rear routed telecaster body with two humbucker pickup routes, and strat controls with a tone, volume and 3 way switch.  No finish on the body either.  I was really surprised as when I talked with the sales people they were talking several weeks.

They must build bodies in groups.  May be the way the machines are set up for cutting, routing, etc.  I also ordered a Telecaster body (no finish) about the 2 weeks before you did and mine is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.  Plus I noticed that the last batch of showcase strats that came out were almost all Tobacco Burst or very similar colors.  It could be for those that order custom bodies that are not in the 'current group', it may take some extra time until the machines are changed for that setup as it doesn't make sense to change everything over for one or two items and then change back to complete the current cycle. 

Now I can't speak about taking 8 months, but that wasn't the point of my response.  :icon_tongue:
