Pickup Problem...

Hey, I just had my silver sparkle Charvel pro setup and it plays pretty good but I suspect that my dad wired the thing wrong. The 2 Dimarzio HS4 do sound pretty good but the Super Distortion in the bridge sounds EXTREMELY thin and bright, plus it buzzes like crazy. I didn't change anything like the pots or the switch when wiring it.

Do you guys think it could be caused by a bad wiring?

Definitely open her up and take some pics.  That doesn't sound like a Super D should.

Are both coils on (tap on the pole pieces)?

Sounds like out of phase, reverse the wiring?  The side you have as hot is really grounded to the pickup housing.... making hum.  The out of phase is making it thin?
