Pickup Cavity Paint

I am building a SSS Strat without a pickguard, with black humbucking singlecoils.

Any preferences for black matte paint for the pickup cavities ?

Thanks,

Conductive Matte black paint is available. I found it to be a bit nasty, but others (who actually work with paint) had no problems.

There are differences in opinion as to whether it's necessary.

This is a rear routed body in SSS & after it was routed, the pickup cavities were just the wood showing. ie: white-ish woodwork
Which would have looked silly like that, when the black pickups go in.

He wanted & has done the pickup cavities with a Matt Black Paint, to hide the wood work when the black pickups get wood mounted.

Looks great  :icon_thumright:  as I have just seen it in the raw flesh.

The control cavity is done in stewmac Conductive paint.

Kind of this idea ..... in the pic of a showcase body.

If in Europe rockinger.com  sell conductive paint ,or do you want just want black paint?
If you use conductive paint & screw pickup to the body without insulation tape or somthing like foam you could short pickup
signal to ground.

I'll answer this as clearly as I can (I thought I just did that), as it is partly getting built at my place.

@Blackouts .... Just wanted a Black Matt Paint (NOT CONDUCTIVE PAINT) to paint the rear routed SSS pickup cavities

Has done this in Matt Black  :icon_thumright: looks great.

Other wise would've seen the bare woodwork.
Just like when people don't dye or paint where a Floyd Rose Trem recessed route is. (where you see the wood work)
Which I personally, think looks unfinished & an eye sore ......
The funniest part  :laughing7:  ... is when he 1st brought the body up to my place   stupid me grabbed a Black marking pen
& started colouring in the bottom of one of the pickup routs to give him an idea of the black on the bare wood work.

Boy did I feel like an idiot  :toothy11:

What the hell for? If you're going to be putting paint in the cavities, use this as your chance to shield without putting any extra effort into it.
