Can anyone explain the dimensions/differences on the following?  Sorry if the question has been asked before.  If so, I haven’t seen it.

Backgrounder: I know what a trembucker is.  If I recall correctly however, Duncan trembucker have wider bobbins and pole pieces, whereas DiMarzio uses the same bobbin width for their trembucker (F-spaced) pickups – only the pole pieces are spaced farther apart.

* Humbucker: looks like it’s cut for a pickup with a cover.

* Fat Humbucker: looks like it’s cut for a pickup without a cover but the term “fat” is confusing.

* Trembucker: also looks like it’s cut for a pickup with a cover but I didn’t know anyone made trembuckers w/ covers.

* Fat Trembucker: ??? See “Fat Humbucker” above.

My next Strat will be HSS but I’m not sure on exactly which bridge pickup yet.  Definitely a trembucker/F-spaced if available (no mounting ring).  Is there a “safe” one-hole-fits-all size?

Thanks all.

"fat humbucker" refers to the way that the fender fat strats are routed. it's meant to get really close to the round bobbin edges of an uncovered pickup. Trembuckers are humbuckers designed for the wider 2 3/16" string spacing of fender tremolos and floyd roses, etc. Trembuckers are also called f-spaced pickups by some manufacturers, I'd guess f for "fender" or "floyd". The trembucker will fit everything, but if you do not have a cover, then fat trembucker will look cleaner.
