Any opinions/recommendations/warnings re: pedal cables? I need some, but my retail options are limited and I'd like to do some research before buying online.

As always, thanks in advance.

Been liking George L.

I don't have a particular brand preference, but buy higher quality shielded cabling, even for short runs like between pedals. The $1.99 ones sold at GC will pick up all the RF noise in the world, avoid like the plague...

George L's all the way. Use the .155 between the pedals with the 90 degree ends and use the .225 from the last pedal to the amp and for the effects loop. That's what I used and they work great.

I've had good luck with the cheapy hosea brand pedal cables.  when I want a step up, I make my own with the planet waves cable kit.  these have worked fine for me.  The george l's are good too.

I'll second the planetwaves kits.  They work great and are quite rugged.  Just make sure to whittle the sales guy down a bit, they're a tad overpriced I think.  I paid 50 bucks for my first one and that was a pretty good deal.

For a 4-inch run of cable it hardly matters.  I use cheap ones, and they do not pick up RF.

George L's for sure. Especially if you buy the cable and ends and make them yourself, there is no better value. A 6 inch cable will run you about $8-$9 that way, no reason to spend a penny more.

Dimarzio cables are good quality.  bob bradshaw and pete cornish say use soldered cables because the average player does not cut the leads right. Pete Cornish said you would probably be better off using cheap soldered cables, ie the guitar center $5 special, of which i use ten. Although my amp and guitar cables are the Monsters with gold ends. I have played through rigs with many different types and can vouch for the quailty of George L's when they are properly cut. I would rather buy pre'made if I could though, esp. when i have so many pedals. but you have to find what works.
