I was just wondering if I wanted Warmoth to pick out wood with specific qualites how much extra is a good estimate on what I would be spending?

Example for a body:
-Mahogany
-Light weight
-Good tap tone(wood rings a bit longer than most others in stock)

Example for neck:
-Padouk
-Quartersawn
-Straight tight grain
-Good tap tone(wood rings a bit longer than most others in stock)

Example for fretboard
-Pau Ferro
-Dark evenly colored
-Good tap tone(wood rings a bit longer than most others in stock)

Basically I was wondering a rough guestimate of the upcharge to be expected for each custom selected peice of wood? Around a hundred or less? If it would be more than a hundred extra per each peice I might start to loose interest.

Well i dont know about body and neck woods, but the fingerboard they do have the unique choice,
which you could see the pau ferrro selection of, which are roughly 50-150 i believe and possibly they might try your tap tone thing you want.
Dont know to be honest, But to get everything to be searched through and custom picked,
does need its fair upcharge if they would do it, as it costs extra man power time that could be used for more than one order wood selection.
I would say your very likely to get most of what you want without them searching i bet.

I don't know, but I wouldn't hold my breath while waiting for interpretations of "tap tones". Liable to suffocate.

They can show you which woods they have available in some cases and let you choose based on appearance, and for that they have a nominal charge. Usually, it's only for fingerboard and laminate body tops, and it's your choice, not theirs. Other than that, everything is pretty subjective so it would be foolish for them to offer it without charging for 5 or 6 finished pieces up front to leave room for you to hear one you liked as well as they did.

i truely lol'd when i read "Good tap tone(wood rings a bit longer than most others in stock)"

the rest of the requests are available for a surcharge to dig through the piles.

Besides, it's poor practice to tap on fine hardwoods. Scares the tone worms out.
