Parker Nitefly and Warmoth

Hello everyone,

I have this huge issue with my Parker Nitefly mojo 2007. The frets are falling off the fretboard, due to the fiberglass on the fingerboard. I am trying to find a solution now and I can't seem to find if Warmoth necks can fit into the Nitefly's neck joint. If someone knows I'll be eternally grateful!

Nope. Not even close.

The Nitefly neck joint is unique, the back of the neck is round right up in to the heel. It won't fit a Fender-spec neck.

Not my pic.

As far as I recall Parker Nitefly necks had the frets glued on rather than having tangs and being pressed or hammered in as on a more traditional neck.

You probably need to find someone who is able to re glue the existing or new frets.

If that's true, then you need to take it to someone who makes guitars for a re-fret.  BTW, got any photos for us?

If they are glued on top of the board, I would be VERY careful cutting fret slots.  Fiberglass is nasty stuff to get in your lungs.

David Gage's could do this, if you're in NYC.  I saw them unglue Bootsie Collins' bass fretboard and put it back together.  As to price, I don't know, probably on the high end, and there are repair people I could recommend in upstate NYS.

When I was at Gage's I got to play a bass from before tempered music, probably made in the 1600's.  It cost more than a house.

Some manufactures will repair stuff for you, like Ovation did (does?).  Might be worth contacting Parker, even if they aren't the original Parkers any more.

I was intrigued by your dilemma and used this high tech infomation detection program called google and I saw this, it looks dicer than I thought, but possible.

Good luck.

Same thing happened to my Parker Fly Artist about 12 years ago. Took it to US Music Corp (US Music Corp aquired Parker Guitars in 2003), they glued the fret back on for $80. A little pricey, but these are not inexpensive guitars.
My recommendation is to have a luthier experienced with Parker Guitars perform the repair, as many aspects of this instrument (including the frets and fingerboard) are non-standard.
