Anyone ever play and all Pao Ferro neck?  I've been seeing a lot of attractive Pao Ferro lately and was thinking about maybe having my bass neck made from it.  Show pics if you've got any.  Thanks!

I have one that is in the work.  No picts the guys at work have borrowed my camera, as is well known, it doesn't exist because of this.  But, it is supposed to sound in the realm of maple.  The feel of the neck is off the charts.  I have Wenge, and ebony necks, and they don't feel as salacious as this thing.  It looks quite nice to boot.  But, I have to finish the finish on the body, so it will have to wait a bit.  So as far as Pau Ferro goes, Holy moly, I am a big fan.

I have a couple of pao ferro boards and I really like them. Most similar to Brazilian rosewood in feel.

I don't have an all Pau Ferro neck, but I do have a Padouk/Pau Ferro Jazz bass neck with an absolutely amazing fingerboard.
I prefer the lighter colored pieces as opposed to the darker, almost Rosewood like pieces, so I picked this fingerboard:

Great board Line6man!  Sounds like I may be going with Pao Ferro.  I was thinking Wenge, but I may have changed my mind.

I have found the feel and tone to be very bright, and the wood itself is quite hard with very little "give."  I'm trying to play it a lot to break it in, but I might end up having to grind the frets because the neck will not bow like I'd expected it to over time.  Resonant, yes.  I would not call it "warm," however.  It reminds me of Ebony, actually.
