OK pics to follow
you all remember the thread I posted after trying one of these things ?
well I did a side job and bought a paint blemished one for 300 US and bought about 100 bucks in software

I have a kid that comes over every Saturday for a lesson. I think I am going freak him out with this puppy tomorrow

this thing rocks, I mean I tried it just messing around at a friends house

But I cannot imagine how in it's present form of development that this does not become the biggest selling way to learn to play there is
the lesson packs are great
the song software is killer
the advanced fretboard hardware was what I had tried at my friends, Now I have half the lesson packs, mise as well order the last 2, I have the advanced  fretboard software and 2 songs just to try them out and I am stoked, I really think this is a killer way to teach guitar. It is so complete, and the lessons are so well made you could just give it to a kid and come back in 30 minutes and ask for 25 bucks and tell him you will see him next week.
Lessons are in Tab or notation so you can do either, have basic theory with them, start you off with the basic this is the way you hold and position of play, and once you finish the basic 5, which are really killer, they have packs for different styles.
Plus just watching the lights go off with the lessons, good thing I do not smoke wacky anymore, I would never turn it off.

Congrats. Was it the FG-421 you got? And in that case with or without trem?

I'm still gettin' GAS for these. And you are not helping  :laughing7:

they are blowing out some 421s with out trem as blemished axes for 299 us and 30 bucks shipping
and that is with full backup on anything but the finish, as said where the neck meets the body, the body (white) has some slight smudges, would never have really seen them except I went looking as soon as it cam out of the box. Came with cd rom with all basic software, and the USB cable, you have to have it connected to a computer for it to work.
Now, why would I, having played for decades want a guitar like this, first, it is just too cool, second I have always seen the fretlight as a killer idea, just now the development is what any guitarist can use. With the "guitar pro 6" software it is a transposing machine. Plus I may not be a professional teacher but I seem to always have a student or 2 and after spending an hour going over the lessons I decided to order the last two as I see this as the ultimate way to get someone to learn, it now is including the sight to the process so you can check yourself immediately. Tomorrow I will post how someone learning reacted to it. I fully expect him to fly though a lesson.
I would suggest snagging one of the Blemished items, Oh I have not plugged it in to a amp yet. and I can only find one complaint and that is I expect a tighter neck pocket but then this one is acceptable in the long run, the fit and finish (besides the so called blemish) are great. I may just jam on it onstage just for sh*(s and giggles in a few weeks.

Where are you finding the deal on blemished Opteks? Straight from the manufacturer, or elsewhere?

go to the site, click on the store, scroll down and they have them, not under guitars but under factory paint blems, seesm they only have powder blue left, I must have got the last white

Curse you...............

ok, you have to down load the axe master software and get the license, now tune the guitar to what ever weird tuning you know of, and set the software for it, punch up a scale and go for it
suddenly you can be a master of the egyptian scale.  Or as I have been doing for the last few days, I am tuning to the early blues guys tunings, open A or E and learnign teh neck in them
suddenly it is not licks I learned fronm them, but ones I am making up because I know the neck in those tunings
Also, check out the crazy chords they offer, suspended 4ths and seconds etc, you have to admit this guitar is going to take you to the neck level real fast and after that it is up to your imagination.

oh, by the way, thanks you for pushing you to expand your playing like others never will know

remember knowledge is power, and power of that neck will bring you to places only your mind can go, true musicianship is playing what you hear in your mind, not copying others.
