Hi, all -

Last weekend I picked up two slabs of 8/4 African mahogany measuring 15" by 20".  I only needed one, but the interesting grain figuring was further down the stock, so I had to buy two pieces to get the one I wanted.

The end piece is very straight-grained, unremarkable mahogany.  I'd be happy to let it go to a forum member, if anyone's interested.  It's planed on the two wide faces but not with a lot of skips on one side.  Edges are rough-sawn.  Rough sanding or planing 1/16" or so off ought to eliminate the skips, and leave you with plenty of thickness for a Strat or Tele body; or if you want a LP style body with a cap, you'll have WAY more than enough to work with.  You're on your own for the cap, howev's.

Also, as you can see on the right side, there's about a 1.25" check as well as a roughly .75" nick on the other side that will be gone when you saw a body out of the wood, unless you're gettin' really weird with the shape you cut.

How about $50 plus shipping?

Also, here's the one I am keeping for myself (NOT FOR SALE):

Finally, there was still about 60-70" of stock left when I was done, so if there's an appetite, I could go back and get more.  It's all just about as straight-grained as the piece for sale here.

Peace
