Oldschool St. Vincent?

What do you mean by old school?

I have noticed that she has become more commercial, and departed from the old vibe that she always had, but her first album was only released seven years ago.

Old school as in seven years ago.  :icon_biggrin:

I just miss the focus on beauty through writing... Since Strange Mercy she's just been going downhill, IMO. Course, artists will do that, and to some, the most recent album has been what "Marry Me" is to me...

Just thinking aloud, the usual. Thoughts?

Well, that's basically what I've been thinking. One thing in particular that was apparent to me in the marketing and internet promotion of her self-titled album, was the sex appeal that was being pushed with a lot of the art and makeup. Seems like she's trying to look like a pop star now.

...is not anything at all like this:

Additionally, though I haven't heard the full album, the tracks I have heard did not have the same wild and passionate spirit that I have noted in earlier works.

I wasn't sure if I was alone in thinking this, however. Anyone else want to chime in? HachiKid?
