Me and some of my family/friends are going to Ohio next month, and we're trying to figure out what there is to do. Food, stops, interesting things, etc...
We are going to the Rock and Roll HOF, and some museums if there are good ones.
Here's our route:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=raleigh,+nc&daddr=Cleveland,+Cuyahoga,+Ohio&hl=en&geocode=FcDWIQId6hFQ-yn34FGfL1qsiTGt8BGKUraQZw%3BFWc7eQIdT20h-ykta2jjLu8wiDFCGGL3VcsE7Q&mra=pe&mrcr=0&sll=38.6246,-80.161844&sspn=9.488844,19.753418&ie=UTF8&ll=38.634036,-80.178223&spn=9.486582,19.753418&t=h&z=6
Any suggestions?

outside of cleveland and columbus, i dont really know of any places with things to do :icon_scratch:

then again, im not from ohio so what do i know?

There are lots of cool things to do in Pittsburgh PA.............  Not too far out of your way...........  I don't know, I'm not a big fan of Ohio or anything that is there (except for the RNR HOF)  I have to drive through Ohio to get anywhere west, and it is the most boring state this side of Kansas and Nebraska to drive through.  I don't know........... You could turn this into a really nice Griswold style road trip if you wanted to.  Might I suggest taking a day on your return trip to take Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway home............ It is a really beautiful way to see Virginia!!  Just tell whomever is driving to be very aware of motorcycles on the blue ridge, lots of bikers use the parkway in the summer and unfortunately a lot of bikers get hit by drivers not paying attention to the road!  Whatever you decide.........  take a bunch of pictures of Jerry Garcia's guitars that are in the lobby of the HOF and post em up for us Deadheads!!!

I have to go to Cleveland often for my daughter who is going through a bunch of surgeries right now (I am in Pittsburgh) so we have to spend some time there from time to time.
Some of the best things I have found are
1) Conventry Rd. not hard to find, a little east i believe of Case western University. Good food there, and there is a place there call the ToyBox which is a vintage toy store.
2) Little Italy - good food and awesome bakeries. there is also a road called random there. it is right out side of Case Western University
3) Great Lakes brewing, Though I suspect you may be a bit too young.

so far that is the best I can think of. skip Cleveland, and come to Pittsburgh, it's more fun here, and our rivers have never burned.

I'm a recent Pittsburgh transplant too.  I'm not from here, didn't grow up here, so I'm still learning my way around.  Here in Pittsburgh they sell shirts with various slogans that say something like "the best thing about going to Cleveland is coming home to Pittsburgh."  Don't know how that all got started, but its an often repeated joke.

Something I do know more about.....growing up I was a huge Dead Boys fan.  Stiv Bators used to introduce their song "Ain't Nothin to Do" as being a song about where they grew up: Cleveland.

+1 to Big Beard's advice on taking the Blue Ridge Parkway home if you can.  Its beautiful.

Any of you former Pittsburger's ever been to a Steelers/ Browns game in the old Three RIvers Stadium and the signs in the bathrooms that read. "This is not Cleveland, please DO NOT urinate in the sinks!"

I haven't been to a browns game in the new stadium, do Browns fans still piss in the sinks?
