Oh, so THIS is where you put this stuff

I've been dotting around the forum posting bits of recording and stuff but I was never really sure if I was putting it in the right place.

I wasn't. This is obviously the place where you actually put the results of all your work.

So here's everything I've put on the forum recently in one easy post, for your dubious enjoyment.

---

The solo from Time by Pink Floyd. Using Duncan's Stack Plus pickups in a Strat - the noiseless equivalent of the famous Gilmour-approved SSL-5.

---

The solo from Comfortably Numb, same pickup. Once the real solo's over it degrades into hit-and-miss noodling. For a really long time - you might want to give up after a while, and I won't judge you for it.

The solo(s) from Money. Unfortunately recorded when I had hurt my hand, but not a bad demo. Same guitar and pickup again.

A video of me playing some sort-of-blues-ish-stuff on my Warmoth Tele that I did for another project. Good demo of the various pickup combinations I came up with.

Love the sound of the tele in the video especially on the bridge pickup. Nice playing!

Looks like the bridge pickup is a SD strat hum bucker?

Very nice playing indeed :icon_thumright:
What are the pickups on that tele.  I do like them.
Inquiring minds need to know...
:rock-on:

Thanks!

It's Seymour Duncan Little '59 in the bridge and the regular '59 neck model at the neck. As well as the standard three-way switching there are two extra positions on the switch. First is both pickups split and in series. The other is the same again, but the neck pickup has a 1nF capacitor in parallel with it. That position is the sound after the first pickup switch in the video.

Sorry for the necropost in my own thread. Realised I never got round to posting this video here, and it's a video instead of a soundcloud file for Comfortably Numb. And it's less than 7 minutes this time ;)

Excellent job!

But, as you mentioned originally, it does tend to run out of steam eventually. Sometimes, less is more.

Sure. I only added a little bit of extra stuff after the album version; basically enough space for a fade out. If you think the album version's too long then hey - take it up with Gilmour!  :guitaristgif:

Gilmour never listens to me. I've tried logic, reason, prayer, instruction, screaming, pleading and he still just does whatever the hell he wants. I'm beginning to think he just can't hear me.

But, it's alright. It's his career, after all. If he wants to ignore me, then he deserves whatever he gets. I can only do so much.
