Not a mistake. It's routed for a trem such as a floyd, vintage strat, etc... Look at the back.

CRAP!
I just read:
"Last post by Max
in Re: oh.....my.....god......im in love"
and got all excited that maybe Max had finally snapped and showed some emotion about something.
Well, one day, Max. One day I'm going to catch you expressing something other than boredom.
:blob7:

damn i really would rather have a standard jazzmaster trem

if i called them could i order this finish?

Or is a american strat tremolo a better way to go?

I am no fan of the Mustang/Jaguar/Jazzmaster types of trems, and would believe that an American Std. Strat trem a better option. YMMV of course.

But - and this is a word of caution here from someone who configured a JM body with a Wilkinson (Strat) trem - when you have the trem&bridge sitting together in a composite (like the Std. Strat trems are, and Floyds too), the trem arm is very forward to where it would usually sit on, say, a Strat body. You may feel a need to find a shorter trem arm & even may feel that the trem arm is in the way a lot. In other words, the bridge's position on the JM body is a lot forward to that of a Strat and if you 'mix and match' trems you may find it uncomfortable.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH man, Gregg or SOMEBODY, man, tell me I can order this finish, I tried real hard to not bite, but I'm HOOKED.  :sad1:

i like it because its a break from all these figured tops  :icon_biggrin:
and it seems to be pretty hard to do

I was enthralled at FIRST, but now I'm just thinking of plain old metallic brown for some reason. I still envy whoever snags that one, for sure.

have to agree with Max on this... it's like a regular burst.. except the woodgrain is missing..

It's called the Barbican Burst, like the regular burst but all the woodgrain taken out. (Go Harry and Paul)

I like it. It looks a bit like the duco that changes colour depening on the angle of light.

Not all of us are able to buy wood that's figured either so it's good for us or just me!
