A dark day - Dave Brockie, aka GWAR front man Oderus Urungus, has gone on to that great metal cesspool in the sky:

Never really got into their (Gwar's) music (-even when I went through my angry-young-man/let's-listen-to-music-that-scares-folks phase), but I gotta admit the guy was a devoted and creative artist on multiple levels; -just look at those costumes! It's like something from Jim Henson's most twisted nightmares!

-As much as I usually wrote Gwar off as "that band Beavis & Butt-Head like", I was saddened to hear the news. -50 years old. -Whadda shame.

I saw GWAR in concert in the early '90s ... and gotta say that it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.  Their theatrics were SO over the top, and they were great players too.

To pass away at 50 is way too young ... RIP.

Youtube their cover of "Carry on Wayward Son", -just goes to show the range and depth of their talents! :laughing7:

Henson did have some creepy stuff. Tame nowdays but the Dark Crystal was really disturbing if you were a kid. Mostly just wierd, but sorta creepy coming from the muppet man

:laughing3: That was great! I love where he is just looking around trying to remember the words. But he nails every chorus. They are great musicians. How do you hide money from a hippie?? Thanks for that vid. Sad he is gone.

Here's the link to the Kansas cover.  It's brilliant.
