I am not a fan of binding, but i think that Tele is kind of cool in a weird sort of way.
I agree that the pickguard looks bad though.

The last dying gasp of CBS Fender... they were trying to compete with the surge in replacement parts and people "Gibsonizing" their Fenders. There's a Strat Elite too. They actually don't suck - they were designed by a couple of the people who helped Fender's resurgence when it was bought back by the employees.
