Howdy! It's been awhile since I posted anything here... I always meant to enter my gee-tars in the GOTM contest, but it's slipped my mind since May/June when I got my Warmoths all finished up. I'll definitely be entering this time around, though!

Quick question for clarification. Is the October contest for "Warmoth Finished" instruments? I only ask because of the discrepancy in the original post:

Good question. Seems like it should be "owner finished" this month.

As long as we're picking nits, why is it "GOM"? "The" is a bigger word than "of", so if you were going to leave out a word, shouldn't it be the "GTM" contest instead of the "GOM"? Who's to say whether articles or prepositions are more important? Or, to more align with such traditional appellations, shouldn't it be "GotM" or "GOTM"?

GOM stands for "Ground Operations Manager" or "Gulf of Mexico" or "Government Of Moldavia" or my favorite, "Grumpy Old Man".

And while we're at it, GET OFF MY lawn!

Apparently not. I was hoping to get my cranberry Korina VIP in for this one, but it's unlikely I'll have it finished in time. Be a hollow victory without any competition anyway.

Rather than posting additional pics, I'll just post the link to the build thread.

I had the same problem entering last month, I sent 2 emails but the GOM master didn't receive them... I had to send it in a PM... :dontknow:

This is the bullet voting method of GOTM. If we only put one entry on the ballot, we can be assured of winning. Wh's next month?

Entered at the last minute. Hope it was recieved. Apologies for the poor picture quality...i dont own a good camera.

Folks,

One thousand apologies.  Voting is a day lagged this month due to circumstances beyond my control.  This month was my turn to administer the contest, and as luck would have it, I was called away on business quite unexpectedly.  I honestly tried to make it on time - using my Android phone - but the user interface was not letting me get into gmail, photobucket, and the forum as I needed to.

We'll still run voting for a week, just slide it back a day.  There was a last minute entry, and it has been included as well.

May the best instrument win!

Hi,

Your guitar looks amazing.

You said you did a "soft finish".

I love it, how did you do it? Is it an oil finish?
