I'm sorry to be starting another topic around this subject but I didn't want this to get lost in the main thread and it honestly does deserve it's own.

I would like to just say thank you to ocguy for taking the time out to put all of this together. I don't know how much work went into it but even if it only took 5 minutes out of your day it was 5 minutes that you dedicated to everyone here that you really didn't have to.

Now, let's start the next one!!!  :laughing7:

+1 Thanks for the work. Ken!

Maybe in July, we can have one where we donate a guitar to a kid who needs it.
NOT me.

This was a lot of fun to put on and ran smooth just like the last one. The hardest part is just trying to keep 50 people you don't know as happy as possible. Thanks to all the made it a success and congrats again to AprioMark

Thanks for the thrills OCGuy.  I'm really happy for that winner guy, Apricotfart.  But mostly I'm bitter about having only one Les Paul to fiddle around with.  Thanks again sincerely

I do think there should be a next one - but one with clear and calculable rules that are set in stone before the event starts.  I'd be in for that!~

I didn't plan on winning until today. I accidentally saw how fantastic a carved top dinky P can look with a high grade maple top.. unless a rich relative dies or I won, I knew I'd never see one.

If I hadn't seen this, I'd be just fine right now.

I had this image of a 5A quilt maple on alder carved top dinky P with a fireburst paint job, mirrored Basslines QP pickups and a Basslines Blackouts EQ, plus a solid wenge neck with a Warhead headstock and a matching quilt veneer... ..and suddenly realized that maybe highly figured maple is proof God loves us and wants us to be happy.

Or he hates us and wants us to be miserable. hehe!!

I don't think God set the prices though

oh well, there goes my hollowwalnutdoublefholewithbrazillianrwneck, bbqbucker, ghost piezo and sustainer strat.. :( ;)

Thanks for organizing this Ken!  :)

I honestly didn't expect to win so I had no plans, other than what was normally kicking around in my project file.  The odds were so astronomically low that I'd win this time....so I just enjoyed the fun of it all.

Thanks Ken!  :rock-on:

actually blue your chances were 1 in 40!!! but I know what you mean.

Even though I didn't participate in this drawing, I am really impressed with Ken's efforts.  Actually, I am really impressed with EVERYONE'S efforts, as this could easily have spiraled into a real mess.  Its a testament to the spirit of goodwill that exists here, and not a lot of other places it seems.

I wanted to participate, but decided to wait this one out because it seemed that tickets were being sold before the rules were hashed out.  Then, some rules were agreed upon and more tickets were sold, but by that time tickets were already approaching the max limit, and I felt it was too much of a "quick sell" like you see in used car lots.  I mean, even the specifics on the second chance drawing didn't get sorted out til after the grand prize had already been awarded.

I am not finger pointing or laying blame on anyone for any of this.  Ken et all did a better job of organizing it than I could have done.  I'm just pointing out the shortfalls that I could see, and suggest we improve the process for the next drawing with these points in mind.  I think that will make some of the other forum members more comfortable about participating in this awesome event.

This was a fun project.  Thanks to everyone, I loved following it.  :occasion14:

Thanks a lot Ken!!! That was fun again!!

I was planning a LP DC junior or a SG junior (single P90 on the bridge)
