Hello all,

We're now announcing the November, 2012 Guitar of the Month contest!  November's contest will be for "OPEN CLASS" instruments.  Any finish or configuration, but must use at least a Warmoth body (or blank) or Warmoth neck.

Please read the GOM rules, which have been refined, with some slight changes, and are posted in a sticky in this forum area.

Submissions must be sent, to uwfgom@gmail.com, and contain two images no greater than 1024x768, along with your description and details of the instrument.

In turn, those images will posted to this message, which is November's submission thread.

Submissions will be accepted from November 1st through November 7th, so get your cameras clicking!

As usual, all discussion for the submissions can take place below, along with other pictures hosted by the poster.

Good luck, and may the best guitar/bass win!

CVEN...you do not see to many carved top soloists...I dig it.

Did Warmoth cut the headstock for you??  I only ask because I am guessing they finished the guitar and headstock.

Thanks DMRACO, figured I go out all out for my first build.

Yes, Warmoth cut the headstock, and they did a great job.  Don't have the stones to start finishing my guitars...yet.

And by the way, WOW!  There are a lot of awesome axes this month!

Hmm, this is as tough month.  I am not going to vote for myself, so now I am wondering what to go with.  Nice entries everyone, but com'on gimme a break...
Patrick

Not only are the entries awesome, but there's a bunch of 'em too. I'll be happy if I get just one vote! It will be like getting one of those "participant" ribbons or certificates to make you feel like you aren't a loser in school.  :icon_tongue:

Seriously, though. These are some awesome guitars. Well done everybody.  :eek:ccasion14:

For those who missed it, here is a link to my build.  I post it because the board was so helpful during the build with suggestions and comments.  While the decisions were mine to make, the comments of the board weighed heavily.  In one specific case, the direction of the grain/spalt, was very helpful.

Yeah, no kidding. I really don't know how to pick one out. Even the Floyd-equipped fiddles look vote-worthy.

Isn't one missing? Where's that sweet little, Antigua finished Jazzmaster?

Not that we need to make the choosing any harder!

Great field this month. It's gonna be hard to pick only one.

Yeah that's mine! for some reason it was deleted?

Spectacular, every one!
My dillemma is whether to vote for the builder, or vote for the great work Warmoth does.

Good eyes!

In the confusion of re-building the submission thread, the owner of the instrument voluntarily withdrew the submission to this month's contest.

No doubt a strategic move.... sly at that.

I hope to see that guitar in an upcoming contest....!~

Usually when I say "that's going to be a tough choice" I don't really mean it, but this time... it is going to be really really hard to pick!

interesting comment.  Only three have the finish by owner (I think), Doug, Grey, and myself.  The scary thing is the members of the board (not just these) are getting so good it is often hard to tell!!!  If it were not of the uniqueness of the three pieces (I do not think W will ever make a BAD A$$ Billy!!!) it would be impossible.
