So i just snagged a lefty Ibanez Artcore:

The price was definitely right (sub-$400) and i kept hearing that they were really really nice and a great value.

Well, that ended up being true.  This is a LOT of guitar for the money.  I'm loving it so far.  Here are some more pics:

I have some big plans for this thing.  First things first, get that plastic nut off there, i'll probably replace it with an Earvana.  I'll get some new pickups (possibly a pair of vintage output Bare Knuckles) and replace all the pots.  Eventually i might even get one of the Callaham ABR bridges for it too.  We'll see.  But for now, i'm having a lot of fun playing and getting to know it.

So...I need the opinions of the UnofficialWarmoth faithful.  I will be very shortly swapping out the bridge pickup and tuners.  Planning to replace the neck p'up and bridge/tailpiece sometime down the road.  I was just planning on sticking with the Nickel p'up covers/hardware, but my very lovely wife, who has quite an eye for decorating/accessorizing, has expressed a STRONG preference for gold p'ups & hardware.  I think gold would look nice, but then i would have to wait until i purchased all the replacement hardware since it would be nasty to have some gold, some nickel parts in the interim.  I definitely want to consider it, though, since her eye for these sorts of things is normally dead-on.  Plus, i think it's pretty rad that she's taken such an interest in this guitar.

Also, gold would be attractive, but would it be gawdy?  I'm torn...

Anything with the word "core" in it normally is a red flag, but those Semi-hollow Ibanez's actually look alright...

That will look nice with gold but if you do it don't use anything cheap. I have gold hardware on my WGD and the Schaller bridge and Gotoh tuners still look great but th e neck plate that I got CHEAP on ebay looks like fake gold jewelry. I think it started changing colors when I unwrapped it !!
