Hello All-
:help:
So I am about to order the parts for a strat. it is going to be S-S-Single Coil humbucker. I want to do all, or as much of the set up as I can, but the thought terrifies me!!! I have never done anything on a guitar, aside from changing the strings before. Do you all think I should just take it to someone? I really dont wanna mess this up!

Thanks,
Logan

It's really not as difficult as you might think.
I would surf around the forum for awhile and read some various threads regarding various aspects of building.
Here is a link to a list of books that various forum members have recommended on all types of topics:

There are also some videos available on building.  Look on StewMac, I think they have a few.
Plus you have a whole bunch of folks here on the forum willing to answer all kinds of what you might consider stupid questions.
Hey, we all started somewhere.  Educate yourself a bit and I am sure your confidence will build.
Last resort, there are always techs out there you can take it too for the stuff you don't feel comfortable with.

Give it a go and you will be hooked.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.

I would also, take your worst current axe and upgrade something on it, or at least take it apart and put it back together. Most any axe can benefit from a pickup and electronics upgrade.
They are not really that complicated, and 90% of what you'll do is reversible anyhow.
