That was a good video. I liked hearing your take on body vs scale length. That is sound logic. :icon_thumright:

Great vid with some good thoughts on how a conversion neck "fits" the body it's placed on.

Since I have pledged my undying loyalty to the Strat shape I might have to move the front strap hook or maybe play with the guitar tilted up at 45 degrees. But this was a very timely video since I want to order a conversion neck because I think the conversion scale may be needed in my proposed humbucker Strat. I want to build a big low end mass moving humbucker oriented Strat  My only question is whether to stick with my SS6115 frets on the conversion neck or go with the ss6100 which I have been dying to try out. I suspect the 6100's have no advantage on the looser string tension of the 24.75 " scale and the SS6115 is a better fit .

But it is good to see that Aaron is catching up so he can do the occasional "official" video. Although I still like the from home videos. But when Aaron would do the home videos with his mug I kept picturing Hugh Hefner's old TV show (I think it was called Playboy After Dark) where Hef would have his velvet dinner jacket and a drink in his hand as he talked about whatever subject he wanted to discuss that week. I kept picturing Aaron sitting in his chair wearing a Velvet dinner jacket holding his mug and talking about guitar stuff.  :laughing7:  This is what pandemic quarantine does to a normal mind.

This was a good lesson. I was toying with the idea of a baritone neck for my K-V build, but that might end up feeling awkward. I'm used to long-scale necks because of the bass, but I also don't play power chords on the bass!

Aaron you rock, bro. I held up a piece of paper to my speakers and it fell apart because you shredded it to pieces. #excellence

I can't wait to be able to watch this video in peace. Currently in the hospital fighting covid 19. Good news is that I am going to survive it. And when I do, this is the first thing I am watching.

Definitely. Glad to hear you'll be OK.

Great video!
Very timely for me.
I’ve got a Jazzmaster HH, with a TOM, and a 25.5 scale neck, and it feels like it’s 20 feet long.
I’ve been reading and I think a Gibson scale neck would do the trick, bring it “in” a little and make it feel less like a bass.
It’s interesting as well, how deeply the neck sits in the body really effects the feel of the scale length.

Acrylic, I too wish you a speedy recovery, sorry to hear you fell victim but glad it's gonna get better.
Aaron, I for one thank you for not removing your shirt to demonstrate your point.    :laughing7:

Thanks for the well wishes. I may get released today. Can't wait to sleep in my own bed again.
Yeah, your own bed. Those hosp. beds are a bugger. Can't say the food in hospitals is all that good, either. Keep your fingers crossed and be nice to the doc when he comes in.

AcrylicSuperman yes a speedy recovery. Get home and get back on that guitar!

SamHain Would like to hear if the 24 3/4" neck changes your tone and how. What woods are in the 25.5? And what woods are you going to select for the 24 3/4? I'm particularly interested because I am planning on building a Hum x Mini Hum x Hum Strat in the near future and planned on buying a 24 3/4 neck  made of Mahogany with a Dark Rosewood fret board specifically to go with the humbuckers. Thanks

Your loss...it would have been glorious.

Blindingly glorious.

Well....at least blinding.

Aaron we all live in the same delusion. It has been my experience both personally and through observation that our bodies age but our minds keep trying to fool us into believing we are still 20 years old and are able to do all the things we did back then!

Great video Aaron. Does a 7/8 Strat solve the problem of the top horn that you find with a normal sized Strat and conversion neck? I thought that it would and has been the basis for my completely embracing the 7/8 guitars and warhead neck. I'm assuming the S shaped guitar in the video is a standard size? It looks absolutely killer btw. I'd like to know the finish on it.

On the other subject if you are a long distance runner and you are thin it means your primary source of energy is fat instead of sugar. It's a proven fact that thin exercising fat burners live longer. Cheers, the videos are superb,
Phillip (PT).
