Since the USPS and FedEx both deliver on Saturdays, I got a new toy this weekend. Well, two, actually.

Pretty snazzy, eh? I'm slightly disappointed with the Mission pedal because going by their pictures that housing should be polished, and it's clearly not. It looks like they just took a wire brush after it. Still, no paint to get chipped/scratched, so that's ok. Next one I'll have painted.

The amp? What can I say? It's an amp. Well-built, lightweight, makes quiet things louder... what else is it supposed to do?

Incidentally, if anyone's interested in a TS-100, that's on the block...

Mine's a little newer than that one and has very few hours on it. They provisioned it with 6L6s, but you can put EL-34s in it and there's a little internal switch that corrects the bias. Nice amp. First $400 takes it.

I didn't understand what the Mission SP1 was at first. I now know it works with AxeFX. Hence the minimal circuitry in the pedal itself.
Nice lil unit.

Right. It's just a Continuous Controller input with a switch attached if you need one. So, no tricky electronics. Pretty high-quality part, along the lines of the old Dunlop CryBabies. Cast housing, sealed pot, etc.

The Axe FX has a feature called "Auto-engage", where it watches the CC input and doesn't turn on the effect it controls unless it sees the input change. So, you don't necessarily need the switch. When you wanna play porn sound tracks with the wah, you just start fiddling with the pedal and it automatically comes to life. I mean, instantly, as if was on all along. There's a parameter for setting how long it waits for the thing to be sitting still before it considers it "off" and shuts down whatever effect you have it controlling. It's useful and effective, and doesn't require you to stomp the thing to life or death.

I was going to say, I didn't realize wah pedals were so simple  :laughing7:

Regular wah pedals aren't much more complex than that. They're essentially just tone controls you work with your foot instead of your hand.

I remember I had a wah pedal and I wanted one with a Fasel inductor. I think there was one for about $120. So I ordered a Fasel inductor for about $5 and soldered in myself. So easy, even I could do it.  :hello2:
