Just got it today - a '81 Fender Strat (the model is "The Strat")
Payed $800 for it - oh man. This thing is awesome. I love it to death already. At first it was playing a little bit wonkey, but I took it to a local guitar tech and now it plays like a dream.
It badly needs to be shielded, but I can't do it for another 2 weeks because I am going out of town, but I will be playing it through a POD and with headphones for the next two weeks so it shouldn't matter.
It has all the wear and tear you would expect from a 20+ year old guitar, but nothing that bothers me.
Also, it is hard ash, not swamp ash. So heavy, but man does it sound good.
Here are pics!
