New soldering station needed... any opinions on which you like best?

The title says it all, my soldering station was the victim of a cat chewing on cords, then my not noticing and turning it on.  The magic blue smoke has left, and I need a new setup!

Right now, I'm mostly doing guitar electronics and pedals, but I won't rule out working on tube amps in the future.  I'm almost brave enough to start down that road.

PACE - I've used 'em all... PACE is the best, bar none... end of story.

I've got 30 years in electronics.... PACE is the only way to go.  Not cheapest, but quality is never cheap.

Another good deal can be had at Parts Express. They have soldering stations made in China with the Stahl name on them, or if it's better for you, you can get the exact same units made in China with the Weller name on them for 3-4 times the price. Same units, different color.

We use these at work:

I highly recommend this unit, there's not any job it can't handle.

Unless you need your temperature to be consistent.  I used to use one of these when I worked on PCBs from cell phones.  Had to be calibrated daily.  For the average home user I'm sure it's dandy though.
