Here's a Gecko neck I bought last year:

I originally had this neck mounted on an Alder body with a translucent blue finish:

However, I have since bought another neck which looks better with the blue Alder body, so now the Bubinga neck needs a new home.  So now I need some suggestions on what kind of Gecko body would look good with this neck.

The neck is a bit on the heavy side, so I'd like a body that isn't too lightweight (in order to avoid neck dive).  Right now I'm leaning towards a clear gloss or clear satin finish over some nice clear, pale Maple.  This would be a good contrast with the Bubinga.

The black "pinstripe" option would also match the Ebony inlays on the neck (fretless lines and Gecko) as well as the black tuners and nut; however, that requires a laminate top, and I'm not sure if I can get a non-flamed Maple laminate top.

Any other ideas out there?  :)

Naked is the only way to go with a body that's pairing up to bubinga. I'm trying to think of something I haven't seen you with so far...

I'd say white korina back with a spruce top and a black pinstripe binding either clear satin or oiled. Its light colored but medium-heavy and a nice counter to the strong coloring of the bubinga.

If white korina isn't available, throw a plain maple back on it instead and stick to the clear coat.
